Please join us to celebrate the Harvest!  Saturday, September 19. We will gather at 10 am and begin by 11 am. The women will journey to the Sacred Lake (Carson Lake) taking the shrine and lake bowl and receive our year-long supply of life giving waters from Her body of water, to bring back to the altar. The men will travel to the altar of Leon Peak, the Lightening Mountain, to give thanks for the weather we’ve received and start the new year.  All of this is done in the spirit of gratitude.

Upon returning back to the home altar, we will place our offerings of Flowers, Fruit and Bread to the weather beings in gratitude for our lives they afford us.

We will celebrate with a potluck dinner and have the community fire afterwards.

STARTING TIME:  Arrive at 10 am – leave Spring Creek Lodge at 11 am to Grand mesa – separate cars for men and women

SCHEDULE:  11 am leave for Carson Lake & Leon Peak.

                         2:30 pm Arrive back at Spring Creek Lodge

                         3:00 pm Make offerings at Harvest Altar

                         4-5:00 pm. Potluck Feast and fiesta

                         7:00 pm Community Sacred Fire

WHAT TO BRING: Potluck Dish – leave in house. Offerings – Flowers, Fruit, Bread

Warm clothing for evening and on the Mesa. Water shoes for women to cross the creek.  Women wear skirts for this ceremony.
